Shoulder Muscles
Our shoulder muscles help us, in conjunction with our arm muscles, to lift, push, pull, and carry packages and each other around. The average person gets good exercise daily for their shoulder muscles by just cleaning around the house, carrying groceries and packages from the store, and playing with their young children.
Major Muscles Worked for Shoulders, and the Machines' Weight Ranges
The machines targeting the shoulders work the major muscles called the lateral and posterior deltoids (delts), and rotator cuffs. A with working the chest, in modern gyms there are usually an equal selection of machines that have either preset weights, or machines in which you add weight plates to them. The weights on present machines increase in increments of 5 lbs, and go over 300 lbs. For the weight plate machines, you can increase the weight from just 5 lb plate, and go up to just over 600 lbs. As a beginner, I believe the preset machines will provide a good workout for the shoulders, while helping you to avoid injury from adding too much weight at one time.
Muscle Training Helps Us to Do Daily Tasks Better
One of the main benefits of consistent weight training is strengthening the muscles in your body. Consistent weight training has multiple benefits in our everyday lives. In sports, people train regularly to run faster, jump higher, and hit harder. All this training is in hopes to win against their opponent. With everyday tasks like grocery shopping, cleaning house, walking pets, and taking care of children, regular training helps to keep us stronger.
